None of the dentists I have tried near my home were set-up to administer IV sedation. I started inquiring about dentists in Bowling Green and was directed to Dr. Andrew Burt. After meeting with him and his staff, I felt comfortable with him personally and confident that he would do his very best to help me.
During my initial consultation with Dr. Burt, we discussed my options. Dentures were ruled out due to my gag-reflex problem. The excessive wear on all of my teeth ruled out partial restoration so my best and only option was to have total restoration. Throughout the process Dr. Burt and his staff were always friendly. Their patience and professionalism helped ease my anxieties and they were always accommodating to my work schedule when setting up appointments. I was very impressed. I can be a difficult patient for a dentist in two respects. One is that I have a sever gag reflex problem which requires me to have IV sedation. The other is that I have a degree in dental technology which makes me more critically aware of the quality of work the dentist is doing.
Due to anxiety caused by dental visits, I neglected my teeth to the point where I could no longer avoid having something done. My teeth had gotten so thin due to mal-occlusion that several of them had broken off. The ones that weren't broken were severely worn down. I was always trying to hide them when I talked or smiled.
I am very happy with the results. My teeth look and feel natural and I now have the confidence to smile again.
